Quick Tip: Get a copy of your credit report

You are permitted to get a free copy of your credit report at least once a year. 79% of all credit reports contain errors of some kind and 25% contain errors of a significant enough nature that they could result in your being denied credit. If your credit report contains inaccurate information, you are entitled to have it corrected.

You can obtain one free copy of your credit report from each of the 3 main credit bureaus (Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax). Or if you want to be extra dedicated you could obtain a report from one of the credit bureaus every 4 months. Additionally, you may request a free copy if you have been denied credit in the past 60 days by a creditor that used one of their services.
